HAMSTRING STRETCH - STAIRS STRAIGHT LEG

Stretch the hamstring muscles through pool stair positioning with straight leg.

How to Perform

  1. Use the pool stairs and place one foot up on the second or third stair.
  2. Keep the back leg straight and lean forward slowly.
  3. Feel the stretch across the top of your back leg and hip.
  4. Hold for 20-30 seconds and repeat with the other leg.

Key Execution Cues

Remember: Keep the elevated leg straight. Lean forward slowly and gently. Feel the stretch in the back of the thigh.

Safety & Precautions

Important: Avoid if acute hamstring injury or lower back pain. Do not force beyond comfortable range.

Additional Safety Notes: Never force the stretch. Stop if you experience pain. Keep movements controlled.

Exercise Modifications

Make it Harder (Progressions)

Increase hold time to 45 seconds. Increase forward lean.

Make it Easier (Regressions)

Reduce hold time to 10 seconds. Decrease forward lean.
