The onboarding process consists of several simple steps that will help us understand your needs, preferences, and mobility level. Whether you're new to apps or have been using them for years, each step is carefully designed to gather information about your abilities and interests so we can customize the app to work best for you.

Follow These Steps to get Started

1. Launch the App

- Download and install the Ability Fix app from the App Store
- Open the app to begin the onboarding process.
- You'll be greeted with a welcome screen.
- Tap "Join Now" to start the onboarding process.

2. Select User Type Options

- Tap on the button that reflects the type of user you are.
-- Consumer - You are the person doing the workouts.
-- Caregiver - You are using this app for the benefit of another.
-- Trainer - You are using this app to help teach water exercise classes.
- This helps us personalize your experience for the type of user you are.
- All data is securely stored and protected and never shared.

3. Select Your Ability Level

- Check the most appropriate description of your fitness level.
- Knowing your Ability Level (AL) helps us choose the best exercises for you.
- You can always update this later in settings.
- Your selections will not affect your ability to use the app.

4. Register Your Water Workout Equipment

- Tell us what equipment you have, if you have any.
- This helps us select exercises for you. (Not all exercises have equipment and those that do may not use the equipment you have).
- You can always change this later in settings.

5. Tell Us About Your Exercise Focus

- Let us know if there is a particular focus you have for your workout.
- This helps us show you workouts and exercises that will address your needs.
- Choose from:
-- Upper Body Aerobic
-- Lower Body Aerobic
-- Core and Back
-- Knees
-- Shoulders
-- Hips
-- Cardio
-- Pain Relief
-- Balance
-- General Fitness
-- Upper Body Non-Aerobic
-- Lower Body Non-Aerobic

- You can always change this later in settings.

6. What Are Your Exercise Limitations

- We don't want you to do exercises that exceed your physical limitations. Tell us what your physical limitations are, if any.
- This helps us personalize your experience by filtering out exercises that aren't right for you.

7. How do You Want to Start?

- Your path here may have come from different sources. Select how you want to begin your workout journey with us.
-- Pre-Created Workout - Within the app there is a selection of workouts that have already been created. Most users start with one of them.
-- Import a shared workout - A friend or coach may have sent you a workout to use. Use this option to see this workout directly.
-- I want to do it - You can create a customized workout from the individual exercises. Select this option if you have a specific fitness need and want to create your own workout from scratch.

8. Create Your Account

- Enter your basic information.
- This helps us secure your experience.
- All data is securely stored and protected and never shared.
- You can always update your account information later in settings.

After Onboarding

Once you complete the onboarding process:
- Your preferences will be saved automatically.
- The app will configure itself based on your selections.
- You'll be taken to the main dashboard
- You can modify any settings through the app's preference menu.
- Explore the app to discover features and exercises tailored to your needs.

General Features

Throughout the app there are several features that will help you navigate the app and customize your experience. This section will help you understand these features.

Notifications

Ability Fix Notifications
- We send notifications for the following:
-- Scheduled Workout - If you have an upcoming workout scheduled you'll receive a notification.
-- Blog Participation - If you create or participate in ie. comment on a blog, you may get a notification.
-- Forum Participation - If you create, or participate in, a forum conversation you will get notifications based on your participation.
- Privacy Settings: See your settings by tapping the hamburger icon at the top or bottom left corner then tap on settings. Control your notifications and other information you share from there.
